Congress is trying its best in Uttar Pradesh to increase its vote bank and register more wins. Better performance in UP will mean that Rahul Gandhi actually deserves to lead the party. His last efforts in UP failed miserably. At the same time, if Congress manages to get good numbers in UP, the party will be able to keep Mamata Banerjee in control.
To Punjab, the Congress high command hasn't given much of attention. Captain has been fighting alone against the Badals for last few months. And, with late announcement of seats, most of the candidates haven't got ample time to pitch themselves as right candidates in front of the voters. And, this year, Punjab hasn't seen much of improvement in the last few months before the elections.
Real estate developers were expecting the roads to be made during the last few months, which gives an additional boost to reality projects and price of properties. The work of sewerage and water supply has been done in many of the newly established colonies though and it might take a while before the roads are built.
In UP, the issues are mainly focused on reservation, corruption and well being of the poor sections in the state. The problem is that the voter isn't having choice and almost all parties are having candidates, who don't have stellar records about their past. So, when you are choosing among four corrupt people, you try to choose the least corrupt. BJP isn't having much of chance in the state.
Team Anna has also started with its campaigning. Baba Ramdev will assist them in this, but Team Anna has clearly stated that they will stay away from Baba Ramdev and will prefer not to share stage with him.
