After reading the reports, i was little shocked that Flipkart.com has acquired Letsbuy.com, for an undisclosed amount in all cash deal. Flipkart was already having a very steady increase in its userbase. I don't think there was any need for the company to acquire its competition at a much higher valuation.
Letsbuy, as per my view was based mainly on the heavy online advertising they did. And, there were reports that the company was running out of cash. There are many companies which are operating in online space in India these days and many of them offer a wide variety of products.
Recently, i visited some shops in the city to buy some clothes and shoes. To my surprise, the prices were up and quality was down and there were really too many shoppers.
The number of shops have increased by almost three times in the past 8-10 years. There are many new brands, many multi-brand outlets and many shopping malls and most of them are full with costumers. I am still not sure, how many of them actually convert into buyers, but there are way too many shoppers compared to 10 years back.
Indian manufacturing jumped the most for the past six months' data while manufacturing data from China is showing decline. Eurozone issues are far from over and this could cause further trouble for countries exporting to European nations.
After all the drama by major political parties about Lokpal bill, inside and outside of parliament, the bill has faced a major roadblock.
Anna Hazare and his team has been trying to put pressure on Congress to pass the bill. However, they haven't blamed BJP and other parties.
There were many parties, which came to share stage with Team Anna in New Delhi, but their tone was different in the parliament.
Is BJP to be blamed in the current situation ?
Is Team Anna having a soft corner for BJP ?
